Dear Nordic colleagues,

The next Nordic conference NEDS2020 is just six months away. The conference will take place in Oslo, Norway, on September 9–11 2020. The theme of the conference is From prevention to recovery. Your host will be the Norwegian Society for Eating Disorders, in collaboration with the Nordic Eating Disorder Society.

The preparations are progressing according to plan and we are happy to present our Keynote speakers. The speakers and the topics for their presentations have been chosen according to the theme of the conference. Professor Bryn Austin from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health will give a talk on accelerating progress in prevention of eating disorders. Associate professor KariAnne Vrabel from Modum Bad Research Institute will guide us in moving from pre and post and Professor Anna Keski-Rahkonen from the University of Helsinki will reflect on building successful long-term outcomes. Finally, Professor Eric Stice from Stanford University will talk about effective and efficacious eating disorder prevention programs. Read more about the Keynote presentations here.

The program outline includes oral presentations, workshops, thematic seminars and posters. However, the program needs to be filled with your contributions. The abstract system is open and the deadline for abstracts is April 1st. Please send in your work and join us in making NEDS2020 a successful event. More information on the abstract submission process is found here.

In addition to all the interesting scientific content, we also offer opportunities for social activities and networking. There will be a reception at the City hall on Wednesday and a Gala dinner on Thursday. This year we also offer sport activities.

In summary, start planning now and register for the conference before June 10 (Early bird deadline). We sincerely hope to see as many of you as possible in Oslo in September. Keep an eye on this website for updates and information.

Sincerely,
Rasmus Isomaa, chairman of the Nordic Eating Disorder Society
