Call for abstracts

For the NEDS 2024 conference, we will ask for three kinds of abstracts: short paper presentations, posters, and workshops. There is also a particular category for invited thematic seminars. Here, you will find relevant information on structuring your abstract and what to include in the text.

Short paper presentations (250 words)

Short paper presentations (10–15 minutes) should be original research studies. The abstract should include at least results. A promise to present results at the conference is NOT sufficient.

Provide the following information in the form of a structured abstract using these headings:

  1. Objective: briefly indicate the primary purpose of or major questions addressed in the study.
  2. Method: indicate the data sources and briefly overview the methodology. This section should briefly note the study design, how participants were selected, and major study measures.
  3. Results: summarize the key findings.
  4. Discussion: indicate the main clinical, theoretical, or research applications/implications.

Abstracts will be rated on scientific quality, novelty, and clinical relevance.

Posters (250 words)

Posters can be original research studies or review studies. The abstract should preferably include results, but ongoing projects can also be accepted.

Provide the following information in the form of a structured abstract using these headings:

  1. Objective: briefly indicate the primary purpose of or significant question addressed in the study.
  2. Method: indicate the data sources and briefly overview the methodology. This section should briefly note the study design, how participants were selected, and major study measures.
  3. Results: summarize the key findings.
  4. Discussion: indicate the main clinical, theoretical, or research applications/implications.

Abstracts will be rated on scientific quality, novelty, and clinical relevance.

Workshops (250 + 250 words)

Provide the following information in the form of a structured abstract using these headings:

  1. Objective: Briefly indicate the primary purpose of the workshop and what the participants are expected to learn from the workshop.
  2. Description: Describe the overall content of the workshop, the theoretical framework, teaching methods, and, if relevant, instructions for preparation (250 words). Description of interactive elements (250 words).

Abstracts will be rated on overall quality, novelty, and clinical relevance.

Thematic sessions (invited presentations) (250 words)

This category is for moderators of a thematic session.

Provide the following information in the form of a structured abstract using these headings:

  1. Thematic session: name of session.
  2. Description: briefly describe the primary purpose and what participants are expected to learn from the session.
  3. Presentations: list titles of included presentations.
