The Steam Hotel in Västerås – a building with a remarkable history!

The Nordic Conference on Eating Disorders will take place at the Steam Hotel in Västerås (Ångkraftsvägen 14, 721 31 Västerås, Sverige).

Originally constructed as a steam power plant in 1917, the 18-storey industrial structure has been transformed into a modern meeting venue located directly on the shores of Lake Mälaren.

Everything in One Place

All parts of the conference, including keynotes, presentations, workshops and parallel sessions, will take place inside the hotel. You will not need to move between locations during the day, making it easy to follow the programme.

Food, Atmosphere and Opportunities to Relax

Steam Hotel offers several restaurants and seven bars, including a rooftop restaurant and bar on the 18th floor with views over Lake Mälaren. Across the building, industrial architecture is combined with softer materials, and the various dining areas and lounges offer comfortable spaces to meet, work or unwind between sessions.

On the 7th floor, you will find the hotel’s spa and relaxation area, which can be booked during your stay. Here, you have access to several pools, saunas, and open relaxation areas with stunning lake views, providing a calm, restorative environment after a full conference day.

Hotel guests also have access to the gym between check-in and check-out, offering a wide range of training options for those who wish to stay active during their visit.

The hotel provides additional leisure activities, including shuffleboard, billiards, arcade games, and bookable karaoke rooms, offering further opportunities to relax and socialise outside the conference programme.

Just outside the hotel, you will also find beautiful walking paths along the lakeside, ideal for a short break or a breath of fresh air.
