Call for abstracts

DEADLINE: April 1st

Please read the submission rules before submitting an abstract.

  • Abstracts must be submitted online via the website only.
  • The Scientific Committee will determine whether the abstract will be accepted for presentation, with consideration given to the author’s preference.
  • Abstracts must be received by the announced deadline. Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered.
  • Submission of an abstract acknowledges your acceptance of the abstract to be published on the NEDS webpage.
  • The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract and agree to its submission before submitting the abstract.
  • Abstracts must be submitted in English.

Changes to your abstract will not be possible after it is submitted. You will receive a verification via email after you have submitted your abstract. Please contact us if you have not received confirmation that your abstract has been submitted.

Posters and short paper presentations (300 words)

We invite you to submit abstracts for poster and short paper presentations on ongoing or recently published scientific research projects. The whole abstract (Introduction to Discussion/Conclusions) should not exceed 300 words. Do not include references in the abstract.

Provide the following information in the form of a structured abstract using these headings:

  1. Corresponding author: State first and last name of the author that we can contact regarding the manuscript.
  2. Corresponding author title/ position: State your title or position as you wish it to appear in the programme. For example: PhD.
  3. Corresponding author institution: State your institution and university.
  4. Corresponding author e-mail: State the email address you wish to be contacted at.
  5. Other submitting authors (name, title, institution. One author per row): If you are several submitting authors state each author in the order you wish them to appear in the programme. If you want another person than the corresponding author to be the first name to appear in the programme, state that here.
  6. Title of presentation
  7. Introduction
  8. Aims
  9. Method: indicate the data sources and briefly overview the methodology. This section should briefly note the study design, the selection of participants, and the major study measures.
  10. Results: summarise the key findings.
  11. Discussion/conclusion: indicate the main clinical, theoretical, or research applications/implications.

Abstracts and short paper presentations will be rated on scientific quality, novelty, and clinical relevance.

Workshops (250 + 250 words)

We invite workshops on the theme of Narrowing the gap between research and clinical care. Do not include references in the abstract.

Provide the following information in the form of a structured abstract using these headings:

  1. Corresponding presenter: State the first and last name of the presenter who can be contacted regarding the manuscript.
  2. Corresponding presenter title/ position: State your title or position as you wish it to appear in the programme. For example, PhD.
  3. Corresponding presenter institution: State your institution and university.
  4. Corresponding presenter e-mail: State the e-mail address you wish to be contacted at.
  5. Biography (of all presenters): Describe the relevant experience within the topic of the workshop for each presenter. Each biography should not exceed 100 words.
  6. Other presenters (name, title, institution. One author per row): If you are several presenters state each presenter in the order you wish them to appear in the programme.
    If you want another person than the corresponding presenter to be the first name to appear in the program, state that here.
  7. Workshop title
  8. Description (max 250 words): Give a brief introduction to the workshop and describe how it aligns with the conference theme of Narrowing the gap between research and clinical care. Describe the aim of the workshop and the learning objectives for the participants. For example, “The participants will learn more about xxx”.
  9. Interactive elements (max 250 words): Describe how the participants will be involved in the workshop. For example, “The participants will be involved in role-plays and group discussions about xxx”.

Abstracts will be rated on overall quality, novelty, and clinical relevance.

New doctoral project (300 words)

We invite PhD students to submit an abstract that describes their doctoral project and how it aligns with the conference theme of narrowing the gap between research and clinical care. The project can be in an early stage and does not need to include results. The projects must be presented by the PhD student.

Provide the following information in the form of a structured abstract using these headings:

  1. Presenter: State your first and last name.
  2. Title and institution: For example: Psychiatric nurse / PhD student at the Institution of xxxx, at the University of xxxx.
  3. E-mail: State the email address you wish to be contacted at.
  4. Title of presentation
  5. Supervisors (name, title and institution)
  6. Introduction
  7. Aims
  8. Method
  9. Results /Clinical implications /discussion: If the project is in an early stage, you do not need to describe results, but can instead describe how this project is expected to contribute to narrowing the gap between research and clinical care.
